I’m a private consultant in the telecommunications industry sector. After graduation, I worked for Telkom SA Ltd for a period of 28 years in all fields of telecommunications. I was also part of a team that investigated the feasibility of a dedicated geo-stationary mobile satellite for the African continent.
In early 1999 I established my own consultancy practice, Geoff Daniell Communications cc offering strategic, business and technical services to clients.
I was part the CSIR’s SACOMSAT feasibility study team that prepared a report for the Department of Communications regarding the feasibility of a geo-stationary satellite for South Africa. I also attended the ITU’s World Radio Conference 2000 in Istanbul as a member of the South African delegation.
My current interest is in telecommunications business development where the correct selection and deployment of technologies to match market needs and requirements, is crucial to the success of new businesses.
I’ve been a regular speaker at conferences dealing with the telecommunications industry in South Africa.
