I started my career in engineering with the Australian Defence Force where I was an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Officer in the corps of Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Most of my professional military service was as an Engineering Manager in charge of manufacturing lines and maintenance workshops.
As a private consultant, I have provided engineering consulting since 1997 to many industry sectors including mining, energy, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and manufacturing. My major projects for clients such as Glaxo-Wellcome China, Johnson & Johnson, Shell Services Australia, National Rail Australia and Powerlink Brisbane include asset management strategies, full FMECA (failure mode analysis) reliability engineering and computerised maintenance management system implementation.
I have written and developed the FMECAGold software package and maintenance training materials including references, books, workshops and presentations. I have delivered papers and presentations at various maintenance conferences including the Asia Maintenance Expo, FM Asia, Maintenex, ICOMS, ACSIM and other mainstream conferences in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
