The practical “KYC” of Doing Deals and Business in Asia 

Whether a counterparty deal or investment, engaging in cross-border business is a holistic process rather than a  “cookbook” menu approach.  It requires coordinating a strategic management approach through actual negotiations and implementation, knowing the integration and operation of the post-deal entity, and a pre-engagement understanding of the background and landscape.   Practical deals and investments also require knowing the  interweaving the interests of enterprises, financial, policy and societal stakeholders into the process structure of “doing deals” generally.  
 
Especially important is “who is the counterparty” and being able to understand and manage the related risk considerations. This course is intended to be a broader and more integrative look at deal due diligence and deal risk management, including a discussion on some practical strategies utilizing technical and “on-the-ground” blends.  Focus is on emerging markets Asia and new industrial policy related sectors, especially with respect to counterparties to the deals and projects.
