Helmut Koerber has more than 25 years of professional experience in the power sector. His expertise is in conventional, nuclear and renewable energy systems. He has double professional qualifications in Physics and Engineering: Diplom-Physiker (MSc) and Doktor-Ingenieur (Doctor of Engineering) from University of Stuttgart, Germany. He is a licensed expert in environmental protection and safety technology. Since 2010 he is also Professor at German Universities of Applied Sciences. His prime areas of experience are power systems layout and design, cost reduction through energy efficiency, heat recovery and co-generation, waste incineration (residual and toxic wastes), security and safety technology, risk analysis, evaluation, and reduction, as well as mining (salt, coal, gold). In all cases, financial modeling is included. Prof. Koerber has carried out extensive research on advanced energy technologies as well as on technically and financially feasible utilization of renewable energies. He actively participated in the comprehensive German Risk Study PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor) and explored the risk of accidents of a toxic waste incineration plant. His consultant advice is demanded from utilities, industry parks, IPP’s, private sector manufacturing companies and governmental bodies.
