Meet your instructor

Vincent leads the M&A governance advisory practice, advising clients on the corporate governance aspects of transactions, including M&A risk management, deal review and approval processes and board training. He is also responsible for certain corporate governance advisory services, including group governance, to clients in the SE Asian banking sector.

He is an experienced M&A advisor, based in Japan, with seventeen years of experience in cross-border deals in Asia. Prior to rejoining Deloitte in 2015, he spent six years in Singapore, first with Deloitte Singapore, then with ING Bank and finally with Asia Principal Partners Pte. Ltd., an M&A advisory boutique he co-founded. Before Singapore, he spent nine years in Japan advising on M&A transactions.
He has worked on transactions mostly for Japanese clients throughout Asia, Europe, the US and Australia in a variety of sectors including natural resources, manufacturing, technology, consumer business and services. He has also advised major western companies acquiring businesses in Japan.
Vincent holds a MSc (Eng.) from the University of Liege, Belgium, as well as an MBA from the CASS Business School of London, UK. He is an MAS licensed corporate finance advisor in Singapore.
In partnership with Vincent Poizat, Ayako Joséphine Yamada specialises in corporate governance and risk management advisory to FSIs. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2015, she has worked as a Corporate Governance Analyst at Nestor Advisors based in the City of London, where her client range included G-SIBs, EMEA banks, central banks and stock exchanges.
She has provided Board-level governance services such as Board evaluation and tailored directors training for market leading banks in Saudi Arabia and Oman, and worked with governmental bodies in various jurisdictions for the revision of governance codes, company law and listing rules. Most recently, she designed top and emerging risk reporting framework for a Japanese G-SIFIs, and covered financial regulation originating in the UK for the Monthly Stress Intelligence published by the Centre for Risk Management and Strategy.
